Urban Farm and 6 farm animals perfect for city living

Urban farming, or urban gardening defines the terms as the practice of cultivating, processing and distributing food in or around urban areas, including livestock.
In Europe, the first city farm was set up in 1972 in Kentish Town, London (even though the UK is about to become less European..). It combined farm animals with gardening space, an addition inspired by children’s farms in the Netherlands. In 2010, New York City saw the building and opening of the world’s largest privately owned and operated rooftop farm, followed by an even larger location in 2012.
There are a small number of rooftop urban gardens in Hong Kong and Kowloon, but the development and value of urban farming does not seem to be acknowledged by the government, developers or the local communities. Why?
Wet Markets are an important part of the local community in Hong Kong, including live fish and poultry kept for sale. Jesse Frost is a writer and farmer and said there are 6 perfect animals suited for city life – chickens, goats, cattle, rabbit, quails and ducks. It could be great if we can see those animals grazing within organic farms in the middle of the city, not just within cages in the local wet market …
